SCHOOL'S OUT FOR THE SUMMER!!!
Thank goodness. I was getting so burnt! I love my students, but I was done. Now, I just have 9 more days of summer school and I'm 100% free! Fortunately, summer school is only 3 hours a day-4 days a week for 4 weeks. Plus, I only have about half of the kids, which is really nice.
Travis got a promotion at work!
He is now a team lead. It came with a raise and a schedule change. He now works from 9:30am to 6:00pm. It has been an adjustment having him not come home until later, but he is happy and loving the change and added responsibility. I am so proud of him and his accomplishments.
I'm still plugging along and doing my part for Girls Camp. It has been fun, but stressful be part of the planning process. I know that the Lord has had His hand in the planning, because things are just falling into place. When deciding on a theme, the camp director and I came up with the same theme without even discussing it...totally inspired! Also, our budget is pretty limited and we didn't think we would be able to do shirts or any other extra goodies, but we found shirts that were normally $4.99 on sale for $1.99. What a blessing! Our stake owns a screen printer that we will be able to print our shirts for pretty cheap. We are doing an Army theme camp and wanted dog tags for the girls, but everything we found was really out of our price range, until I found some that were a dollar a piece. Just watching everything fall into place is a testiment to me that the Lord knows us and even little things like Girls Camp is important to Him. I am so grateful to be part of the miracles that are happening for our little ward.
I have recently started studying the Conference April 2010 Edition of the Ensign. It is amazing to me how so much of what was taught is applicable to my personal life. I obviously did not listen very well during each session, because I am learning so much as I study each day. One talk that has really made an impression is President Dieter F. Uchtdorf's talk from the Priesthood session entitled "Continue in Patience."
He said:
"...patience is not passive resignation, nor is it failing to act because of our fears. Patience means active waiting and enduring. It means staying with something and doing all that we can--working, hoping, and exercising faith; bearing hardship with fortitude, even when the desires of our hearts are delayed. Patience is not simply enduring; it is enduring well!"
That's what I need to do...endure well!
